Pittsburgh Business Times Chronicles Range’s Marcellus Discovery

The Pittsburgh Business Times energy reporter Sam Kusic recently interviewed Range Resources Vice President of Geology, Southern Marcellus Shale Division and the “father of the Marcellus” according to the Association of Petroleum Geologists Bill Zagorski on the initial thinking behind the Company’s pioneering efforts in the development of the Marcellus Shale.

          “I thought it would be important and big, But I didn't have
           comprehension at first of how big it could be," he said.

Today, according to the U.S. Energy Information Association the Marcellus is the largest producing shale basin in the United States, accounting for almost 40% of U.S. shale gas production.”
