Shale Gas Exports Making U.S. History

exportsThanks to an abundance of shale gas from areas like the Marcellus, the United States will be a "net natural gas exporter beginning next year" according to the Energy Information Administration. This success is possible thanks to innovative technology like hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling. 

The Washington Examiner article states:

"For the first time since 1957, the United States is on track to export more natural gas than it imports," said Adam Sieminski, the director of the Energy Information Administration, as he released the latest monthly energy forecast. "This will occur during the second half of next year as more liquefied natural gas export capacity comes online."

According to the Energy Information Administration, The U.S remained the world's top producer of oil and natural gas in 2015.
